Professional Support, Partnership & Outreach

We provide professional support, advice and training to schools through all Key Stages.


The Professional Support and Outreach team are a highly skilled and experienced team who can work with staff and students individually and in small groups, in schools or in centres as well as delivering training and advice.

Team 4 – Adolescent Support Workers and PFSA

We support pupils in Years 9 -11 who meet the following criteria:

  • Those at risk of permanent exclusion.
  • Those who have had a significant increase in fixed term exclusions.
  • Those who are showing a sudden or uncharacteristic change in behaviours.
  • Those who are displaying an increased disengagement from education.

SEMH Advisory Team

We provide programmes and packages of support, advice and training through our Partnership and Outreach programme. 

We work closely with schools to put together a bespoke programme based on what students need.  We provided programmes of Training, Advice and Support to meet the Universal, SEN Support and High Needs requirements of Somerset County Councils adopted Specific Core Standards for Children and Young People.

Our services include:  -

  • Attachment Training – whole school training and targeted work
  • Resilience and Transition work
  • SEMH Leadership Programme for Head Teachers and SENCo’s
  • Theraplay and Playtherapy to support young people with SEMH difficulties and working with parents and staff to improve children’s mental health
