The Hospital Education Unit is based on the wards in the Children’s Unit at Musgrove Park Hospital. The Hospital Education Unit provides educational activities for children and young people ranging from Early Years Foundation Stage through to Tertiary education. Education is offered to all school aged children from admittance either in the classroom or at the bedside. The education for long stay and returning patients is planned in consultation with the child’s school or college.
The children who spend time with us in the Hospital Education Unit say they enjoy the variety of educational and enrichment activities offered. We often enrich our curriculum areas with visiting specialists, who offer a range of exciting opportunities for our students.
“It was great how flexible the teachers were. My child looked forward to the school each day.”
“We have been impressed by the thought and effort put in by all education staff in making my daughter’s experience pleasurable and in touch with things she enjoys. “
“I was both pleased and impressed not only with the friendly teacher but also the wide range of activities offered.”
“The teacher clearly took on board all that we said that our son was interested in and doing in school because she included it all in a range of activities. The balance was great.”
